Munyamadzi community bush camp

At Munyamadzi fishing and canoe safaris on the Mutinondo River are inspiring and great fun. The river is particularly rich in tiger fish and bream, which can be roasted on the BBQ facilities available at the bush camp. There's nothing like freshly caught fish! There are many amazing out-of-the-way spots to explore on guided walking safaris. These include the Muchinga Escarpment, the Mutinondo Falls, the Upper Mumpamadzi and Chivungwe Plains on the northern banks of the Mumpamadzi River, the Luangwa Fossil Forest and the Chibwe Malimba caves. After a guided exploratory day in the valley and a memorable descent through the Great Muchinga Escarpment, visitors can come back to camp, have a refreshing shower and share the day's stories around crackling camp fires… What an experience.

Natwange community bush camp

At Natwange locally trained community tour guides take visitors on birding safaris along the Mwaleshi River, down to the rapids and on to the Muchinga escarpment. 52 species have been identified here including the rare Lady Ross's, Turaco and Schalow's Turoco. A typical birding safari takes 3 hours. In terms of game viewing you may encounter a good selection of buffalo, Cookson's wildebeest, zebra, impala, puku, African wild dogs, monkeys, baboons, lions, elephants and the black rhino. There is also an opportunity for fishing and canoe safaris at this camp.Wildlife you may see

'Natwange' means 'let's celebrate and have fun.' In this case visitors are encouraged to enjoy Zambia in a way that promotes community well being and sustainability by visiting this campsite. Safari accommodation is provided for at Munyamadzi.

Natwange community bush camp

This bush camp is found along the Mwaleshi River, next to the Mano gate, 42 kilometres off the Luanya Junction on the Great North Road. It is in a typically undisturbed area of Miombo and riverine thickets. There are six beautifully separate camping sites along the Mwaleshi River, each with traditionally designed ablutions with running and hot water. BBQ facilities are also in place. All services are self-catering and guests can rent tents or use their own. The campsite is ideal for families, school groups, picnics and church groups. The natural scenery provides a perfect atmosphere for relaxation, reflection and meditation. The 'central insaka' is an ideal venue for out of town workshops and conferences. There is an onsite shop that offers assorted chilled soft drinks and beers. Souvenirs made by the local Bisa people will be available shortly.

As well as offering safari accommodation Munyamadzi also offers a camping facility with traditionally designed ablutions with running and hot water. BBQ facilities are also in place. All services are self-catering and guests can rent tents or use their own.

Munyamadzi community bush camp

The Munyamadzi Community Bush Camp has three self contained bed and breakfast chalets constructed from local materials taking an eco-friendly approach which is environmentally sustainable. The chalets depict traditional housing styles, are well furnished and fitted with solar electric power – you can use your laptop in the middle of the bush if you so wish! The water system is well designed to ensure you have clean safe water to drink. Cold drinks, beers and spirits are available, whilst trained chefs can prepare you tasty meals on request! There are also camping facilities available with further facilities at the Natwange Bush Camp.

This camp is in the Munyamadzi Game Management Area (GMA). This includes an ecological corridor in the Luangwa Valley, bordered by the South Luangwa National Park in the south, the Luangwa National Forest in the west, the Luambe National Park in the east and the North Luangwa National Park in the north. The Luangwa River forms the natural eastern boundary. Because of the geographical layout, the Munyamadzi corridor is known for having the highest densities of buffalo, elephant, lions leopard, impala and giraffe. (The Munyamadzi corridor is the only GMA in the North Luangwa Ecosystem with giraffe). The Munyamadzi Community Bush Camp is located 57 kilometres from the Great North Road adjacent to the Mutinondo River Bridge, about 120 kilometres from Mfuwe and 50 kilometres from Chief Nabwalya's headquarters.
