The main safari camp is made up of one family house and six luxuriously appointed East African tents set under thatch and placed on raised rosewood platforms and overlooking the river. They are carefully positioned to ensure privacy, safety and harmony with the surrounding vegetation.
Each unit has a spacious en suite bathroom and secluded outdoor shower. Existing trees, rocky outcrops and topological features have been cleverly used in the safari accommodation layout and construction, thus minimising the impact on the original look and feel of the area.
There is a lot to do here. The KaingU team can arrange all manner of adventures for you; or you can choose to relax and take things slowly. The focal point of Kaingu Safari Lodge is the thatched central boma with lounge, dining room and bar facilities overlooking the river.
You will be spoiled by the exceptionally high standard of food that is freshly prepared and served here. There is a wide open large deck on stilts with a fireplace and seating overlooking the river. This makes a great spot for sunset views and night caps.
Community and conservation
KaingU Safari Lodge is well aware of the impact humanity has had on the planet and how fragile our environment has become. Their philosophy is that they are custodians of a portion of the community's land which has been entrusted to them. They must therefore play a part in preserving this unique environment.
KaingU Safari Lodge supports community and conservation projects by contributing funds to a legally registered community trust.
