Further information

Project goals:

  • a) To review gaps in Zambia’s EPR Regulations Statutory Instrument (SI) No 65 of 2018 and ban on 30 microns of plastic carrier bags and further provide recommendations to the regulatory Authority for better inspections and enforcements and further push for the total ban on single-use plastics bags.
  • b) To successfully raise awareness on the associated dangers of single-use plastic bags c) To produce a short documentary on the illegal manufacture, sale and use of 30 microns and below single-use plastics.

The project is an extension of the recommendations we made to the Zambia Parliamentarian Caucus Committee on Conservation in March 2019 at the WWF review workshop of the Statutory Instrument (SI) No 65 on the ban of 30 microns and below of single-use plastics in Zambia.
