Decis Forte Synthetic Pyrethroid Insecticide

Decis Forte is a quick-acting synthetic pyrethroid insecticide that works through contact activity and ingestion. It is not systemic. Thorough plant coverage is essential. Unless otherwise specified, rates are suggested for high volume spraying to the point of runoff. For concentrated spraying, adjust the dilution rate accordingly.

Contains:

• 27.5 g/Lt deltamethrin in form of an emulsifiable concentrate.
• 811 g/Lt hydrocarbon liquids.

Directions For Use:

Mixing: add the required amount directly into a partly filled spray tank with the agitation system operating. Complete filling with water and maintain agitation during application.

Beans:

• Pest: Looper, caterpillar, white butterfly
• Rate: 360 ml/ha in 500- 600 litres of water or 36 ml/100 litres

Apply at first sign of damage

Brassicas:

• Pest: Diamondback moth, White butterfly, Caterpillar
• Rate: 360 ml/ha in 700-1000 litres of water or 36 ml/100 litres

Apply at 10 - 14 day intervals from transplanting. The addition of Citowett spreader sticker is recommended

Eucalyptus spp.:

• Pest: tortoise beetle
• Rate: Use 450 m/ha with 500 ml/ha butyl dioxitol or suitable adjuvant oil at recommended rates

Apply by aerial spraying using Microair atomisers

Tree seeding nursery beds (pinus spp):

• Pests: Thrips, Looper, Caterpillar, Tomato, Fruitworm
• Rate: 36 ml/100 litres of water

Apply every 2-3 weeks from germination. The addition of a suitable spraying oil at 1% is recommended

Pre-flowering only. Kiwifruit,Tamarilos and grape vines, non-bearing pipfruit, stone fruit and avocados:

• Pests: Grass Grub, beetles
• Rate: 90 ml/100 litres in moderately fine spray. (Ensure complete foliage coverage.

Apply at dusk commencing when beetles first appear and repeat at 608 days intervals during the beetle feeding period.

Lucerne:

• Pest: Sitona weevil, aphids
• Rate: 225 ml/ha in a minimum of 250 litres of water.

Application should be timed to control adult weevils from mid May onwards following post-aestivation flights but prior to egg-laying. Apply if aphids are present immediately after cutting. Repeat if necessar

Onions:

Pests: Onion thrips

Rates: 360 ml/ha in 500-600 litres of water. (Apply at the first sign of thrip damage and repeat as necessary after 2-3 weeks. the addition of Citowett is recommended)

Ornamentals:

• Pests: Looper, Caterpillar, Tomato Fruitworm, thrips
• Rate: 36/100 litres of water.

Apply at first appearance and repeat as necessary.

Potatoes:

• Pest: Potato tuber moth
• Rate: 450 ml/ha in 500 - 500 litres of water.

To control foliage mining apply at 10 - 14 day interval from the first appearance of mining activity. Maintain adequate soil moisture and soil cover over developing tubers to assist in the control of tuber mining

Tamarillos:

Pest: White fly

Rate:

• pre-flowering plants - 72 ml/100 litres
• Post flowering - 45 ml/100 litres or 22 ml plus 300 ml of suitable oil/ 100 litres.

Apply immediately after pruning and repeat 7 - 10 days later. Apply at 10 - 14 day intervals or use as required. Ensure complete coverage of plants, particularly the underside of leaves where white flies favour.

Tomatoes (outdoor):

• Pest: Tomato fruitworm, Looper, Caterpillar
• Rate: 27 - 36 ml/100 litres of water.

Apply 400-1000 litres/ha depending on crop density. (Use the lower rate on a 14 day schedule or the high rate on a 21 day schedule. Begin treatment after emergence or transplanting.)

Maize and Sweetcorn:

• Pests: Greasy cutworm, Corn earworm
• Rate: 450 ml/ha(greasy cutworms), 360 ml/ha(Corn Worms).

Apply in evening as a direct spray to thoroughly cover the base of the plants. Rain within a few days of treatment will improve control.

Winter Squash:

• Pests: Aphids
• Rate: 360 ml/ha in 500 - 700 litres of water

Make two applications 10-14 days apart over the pre-flowering period. Use alternative insecticides if required for the rest of the season.

Compatibility: Decis Forte is compatible with most commonly used fungicides and insecticides. Flocculation may occur when mixed with some sulphur formulations.

Warning!

• Danger - This product is corrosive and may cause eye damage.
• Toxic to aquatic organisms - Must not be applied directly onto or into water.
• Harmful to terrestrial vertebrates.
• Very toxic to terrestrial invertebrates.

Personal Protection:

• Do not eat, drink or smoke while using this product.
• Wear protective clothing such as impervious gloves, waterproof hat, coat and trousers.
• Wash splashes of concentrate from skin immediately.
• Remove protective clothing and wash hands and fave thoroughly before meals and after work.
• May be harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through skin. Avoid skin contact or inhalation or contact with eyes.

Storage: Store in original container tightly closed and in a locked dry cool, well ventilated area, away from food stuffs. When stored appropriately. this product should show no significant degradation for 2 years from the date of manufacture.

Spills:

• When dealing with spills, always wear personal protective clothing.
• Contain the spill by damming. Recover spilt product by absorbing with sawdust or any inert absorbent material then transfer the recovered material to a properly labelled drum. Deal with all spillages immediately.
• If contamination of drains, streams, waterhouses, etc. is unavoidable, warn the local water authority.

First AID:

• If swallowed do not induce vomiting
• If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush skin with clean running water. If irritation occurs seek medical advice
• If splashed in eyes, wash out immediately with water. If irritation persists get medical advice.
• If inhaled move the victim to fresh air Immediately.
