Short Flight Over Victoria Falls
Start from the helicopter site and climb to a height of 1500ft above the ground, whilst approaching the magnificent Victoria Falls. The pilot informs passengers of various landmarks of interest all along the route and will fly one and a half orbits right and left to enable passengers on both sides of the helicopter to video, photograph and view the mighty Victoria Falls. After flying over the falls, the pilot will fly towards Long Island where passengers can see elephants and hippo depending on the time of year. After this, depending on how much time was spent spotting the game on Long Island the pilot will fly over the Mosi-0a-Tunya Game Park where passengers can view several herds of giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest and sometimes elephant. The pilot then heads back to the site. This fight lasts 12-15 minutes.
Long flight over Victoria Falls
From the helipad the helicopter flies low level over gently undulating landscape with its Baobab trees, Mopani trees and Acacia shrub, to the mighty Zambezi Gorges. When the pilot reaches rapid 21, he will gently lower the helicopter into the middle of the Batoka Gorge with its 800 ft tall shoulders of rock. This is an exciting flight down river past rapid 22, 23, 24 and 25. At rapid 26, which is a very long and straight rapid, the pilot increases speed to lift out of the gorge, a very tall 880 ft above you. The pilot then turns around and heads back to the falls passing several cultural villages. Passengers will be able to see the falls spray and at approximately two miles the pilot flies 1500 ft above the ground to reveal the falls. The pilot will now spend a few minutes around the falls while explaining to the passengers the various important features. After this the pilot will now proceed over Long Island, and the river on both sides of the island looking for hippo, elephant and some of the crocodiles that relax on the banks of the mighty Zambezi. This flight never ends without flying over the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park where there are several herds of giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest and from time to time elephant who visit the park. This flight takes 25-30 minutes.
