About Trident Preparatory School
Trident Preparatory School pride themselves on being a friendly and open school that offers high quality education for all children. Trident Preparatory Kalumbila is a small school, and for this reason the classes consist of combined year groups, Year 1 and 2, Year 3 and 4, and Year 5, 6 and 7. Classes are small and children receive individual attention. The class teachers have established flexible learning environments with opportunities for class work, group work and individual work. The classrooms are large, spacious and airy and have double doors that lead onto an outdoor veranda designed to take learning outside.
Curriculum
Trident Preparatory School Kalumbila offers the Cambridge curriculum for core subjects including literacy, numeracy and science. The school recently adopted the International Primary Curriculum. They also ensure that the History and Geography lessons relate to Zambia.
International Primary Curriculum (IPC)
Learning with the International Primary Curriculum means that children focus on a combination of academic, personal and international learning that is exciting and challenging. The aim of the IPC is to help every child enjoy the learning of a wide range of subjects and to develop an enquiring mind and the personal attributes that will help throughout teenage and adult years.
Young people are encouraged to develop a sense of their own nationality and culture and at the same time develop a profound respect for the nationalities and cultures of others. Through the IPC approach to learning, children develop the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to confidently face the world of tomorrow.
Co-curricular program
Trident Preparatory School Kalumbila co-curricular program includes tennis, hockey, cricket, rugby, athletics, cross-country, music, chess, art and craft, computing and shooting.
