The College is fed from the two Preparatory schools, Trident Preparatory Solwezi and Trident Preparatory Kalumbila, and continues to offer the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) curriculum to boys and girls from year 7 to year 13 (A-levels). The academic syllabus is enhanced by an extensive co-curricular programme and underpinned by a caring, experienced and talented group of teachers who have been drawn to Solwezi from around the globe.

Curriculum

Trident College follows the Cambridge Curriculum, blended with IGCSEs and their own cross curricular topic based programme. Teaching is delivered by qualified and experienced staff who know the children as individuals, and tailor their lessons to address the needs of each child.

The school uses the best mix of traditional and modern teaching methods. Trident College constantly strives to stimulate the pupils intellect and captivate their imagination. Subjects taught include Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Design and Technology, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Religious Education, History, Chemistry, Music, Arts and Modern Foreign Language.

Boarding

Trident College offers boarding facilities for children aged between 12 and 18. The boarding houses are covered by staff 24 hours. Despite each house having the same structure and the necessary systems in place, each has its own individual atmosphere – this makes every house a special place for the young people within it. Each boarding house is run by a team of staff, supported by senior students: Housemaster/Housemistress, Assistant Housemaster/Housemistress, Matron and House Tutors.

Co-curricular programmes

Trident College believe that each child should have the opportunity to develop their own interests and skills, and to discover the crucial traits of resilience, teamwork, endeavour, independence as well as organisation. These traits are learnt effectively outside the classroom so students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of activities including arts, outdoor pursuits, sports and clubs.
