For all the boreholes drilled by Manzi Drilling, technical support is provided as well as the ongoing supply of spares for the systems installed. The construction unit supports the drilling activities, supplying and fitting the pumps, filling reservoirs, plumbing and developing small irrigation systems as well as general construction. The company offers borehole drilling at various depths ranging from 200m to 1500 feet (over 450 meters). The company offers an extended service to its customers that includes water surveyors, pump installation, and motor and water analysis. Manzi Drilling water development consultancy

Manzi Drilling offers a consultancy service for the benefit of the Zambian people, focussing on donor and community facilitation at all levels of water development including water source identification, appropriate water development means, water conveyance, and water supply maintenance. For community projects, the local people are given the skills to manage the borehole, the pump and ancillary equipment. This training is provided both before the drilling starts, and after the borehole is finished and the pump installed. The company provides this service to donor agencies (both bilateral and multilateral), Government departments , international NGOs, local community organizations, faith-based organisations, local authorities and SMEs.

The drilling rigs

The company operates a fast, high pressure hydraulic rig which can drill boreholes in a range of diameters – 4", 4.5", 6", 6.5", 8", 10" and 12". Manzi Drilling has introduced tube well drilling technology to Zambia, bringing in the first Dual DTH and Rotary Rig that can complete a gravel filter packed tube well 1,500 ft. deep and 4" to 12″ in diameter in just 48 hours, compared to 3 to 4 months for a 1,000 ft. deep well using a percussion rig. Light trucks, welding machines and other equipment support the drilling operation.

The Manzi Drilling team

The company has a well trained team of borehole consultants and trained drilling professionals and is able to drill approximately 150 to 200 water boreholes every month. The work is carried out by qualified hydro-geological engineers and technicians. Manzi Drilling also employ community experts, electrical engineers, quantity surveyors and civil and environmental engineers, to facilitate all the work it carries out. The drilling staff include experienced drillers from India and Zambia who have considerable experience in all types of drilling situations found in Zambia such as drilling in loose material like sand and gravel, in limestone and in metamorphic rocks.Services and products
