Syllabus
The academic programme is challenging and imaginative, designed to foster intellectual curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. Leopards Hill follows an enriched syllabus for grades 8 and 9 under the Examinations Council of Zambia syndicate. For grade 10 to 12, the pupils follow the IGCSE syllabus under the Universty of Cambridge in the UK. The strong academic results that are achieved each year prove the schools strength and desire to sustain to excellent academic performances.
Class sizes and staffing
On average class sizes are 25 pupils per class. These class sizes ensures each child receives individual attention and plenty of love and care. established school rules and culture help govern pupils. With its dedicated staff the school provides high standards that are felt, understood, believed and practiced.
School facilities
Particular attention is given to ensure the school keeps abreast of current technology. Paramount is the provision of facilities for students to be able to use computers as research tools, for knowledge and for communication in a well equipped computer lab. Leopards Hill School graduates are computer literate and have a sound working familiarity with today's most popular software. They are well-versed in using IT across the curriculum. The school has a specially equipped science laboratory that encourages the development of scientific minds. The comprehensive library is an excellent resource for student projects. There are also numerous opportunities for extra-curricular activities and a wide range of sporting disciplines are on offer. The school believes that healthy minds are encouraged by healthy bodies and this is achieved by offering excellent sporting facilities that include swimming, netball, football and athletics. The overall aim in the provision of high standard facilities is that all young people in the schools charge are equipped to take on the challenges of change and progress.
Boarding life
Leopards Hill Jesuit Secondary School also offers a boarding facility that is full of life! There is separate accommodation for boys and girls which is comfortable and home-like. Day-to-day boarding life is overseen by adult care-givers who strive to provide a loving atmosphere with strong (though not draconian) discipline and one-on-one, parent-like support. Boy-girl relationships are closely supervised. Nourishing, varied and adequate meals are served in the dining hall within the campus. Prep is held regularly every evening for students to do their daily homework. Each day ends with a session of evening devotion and prayer. Every pupil gets an opportunity to lead the rest of the school in bible sharing and prayer.
Community service and field trips
Community service is a core component of life at Leopards Hill Jesuit Secondary School and pupils are expected to participate in various community service opportunities. Leopards School believes that the classroom is the first step in a well-rounded education and that much can and should be learned on field trips. Therefore, throughout a pupil's time at Leopards Hill Secondary School, regular outings and excursions are encouraged and undertaken.
Scholarships available
