Rooms

Executive suites

Self-contained, king sized bed and furnished lounge with selected digital satellite TV channels to choose from. They are also air conditioned with a shower and bathtub.

Executive rooms

The centre has 12 self-contained executive rooms, fully furnished with a fridge and selected digital satellite TV channels.

Standard rooms

KGRTC has 56 self-contained standards rooms. These rooms have double sized beds, en-suite bathroom and study area. They are also fully furnished with a fridge and selected TV channels.

Twin rooms

The Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre (KGRTC) offers 9 rooms with two three quarter beds in each. They are self-contained, air conditioned and fully furnished with a fridge and selected TV channels.

Other facilities

Oasis Mingling Bar

This bar stocks a wide variety of beverages. Guests have free access to the cash bar with DSTV entertainment. In addition, fast food take away services are available.

Gymnasium

KGRTC has a gymnasium for clients who want to keep fit at no extra charge. However,

membership is open to the local community and other walk-in guests at a fee.

Transport and business centre

KGRTC hires out transport to guests and also provides secretarial services through the business centre for printing, binding, photocopying and more.

Training

The scheduled training programmes range in duration, from two days to thirteen weeks and can be conducted at KGRTC or online (through virtual platforms). All courses are certified at skills award level for competency under the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training

Authority (TEVETA) in Zambia.

In addition, the Centre offers tailor-made training programmes and

can conduct onsite training at clients’ premises in order to cost effectively meet the specific needs of individual organisations.

Lecturers are highly qualified and have significant levels of experience in engineering and management. Their expertise is reinforced by current links with outside organisations such as ABB AB, Substation Automation Products (ABB SAP) in Sweden, Acier Profile SBB Inc, in Canada and the International Centre for Hydropower (ICH) in Norway.

KGRTC uses a variety of teaching methods, including formal lectures, tutorials, study tours, computer based training and state of the art computerised and conventional simulators, software packages and laboratory work. Their state-of-art equipment contributes significantly to the quality of training.

Tailored courses are designed to meet specific client needs, addressing local business circumstance and they can be delivered virtually anywhere in the world. KGRTC frequently collaborate with clients by jointly promoting a tailored course to other organisations with similar training needs, enriching course participants’ interaction and allowing the cost of training to be optimised.

African hall

A spacious and air conditioned conference room which sits a maximum of 100 delegates. It has a white board, flat screen TV, PA system, projector which comes at a minimal fee, and flip chart stands. Delegates get a complementary folder, paper and pens.

Kilimanjaro board room

An immaculate air conditioned conference room which sits a maximum of 18 delegates. It is equipped with white board, PA system on request, projector which comes at a minimal fee, and flip chart stands. Complementary folder, paper and pens are also provided.

Kariba/Victoria meeting rooms

KGRTC offers two lecture rooms and a computer based training classroom (CBT). The lecture rooms have a combined sitting capacity of 60 delegates with the CBT sitting 20 delegates. All conference rooms are equipped white boards, flat screen TV, PA system, projector which comes at a minimal fee and flip chart stands. Delegates also get a complementary folder, paper as well as pens.

Catering facilities

The centre has two restaurants Lule and Nidelva, which offer a variety of menus at competitive market rates. The restaurants have a combined seating capacity of 70 people. A variety of meals, both traditional and international cuisines are offered to clients.

The Restaurant opens for breakfast from 07:00 hrs to 09:00 hrs, lunch from 12:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs, dinner from 19:00 hrs to 21:00 hrs.
