Food safety

The company is bound by strict policies on food safety, product security, quality and hygiene. It employs a team of experts to ensure that international food and safety quality systems are maintained. Fruit & Veg City Zambia is a HACCP oriented company aiming to achieve Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) in the very near future. This has held the company in good stead with its clients based on the fact that products supplied to them are traceable and of high quality.

Delivery services

Fruit & Veg City Zambia has a fleet of refrigerated vehicles to make its deliveries. This ensures the 'cold chain' is maintained throughout the delivery process. All fresh local products is sanitised using approved food grade quality chemicals, then processed and chilled to temperatures between 1-5 degrees to ensure the freshest quality for its customers. Fruit & Veg City has a huge client base in Lusaka, ranging from supermarkets, hotels and restaurants to canteens, camps and lodges, fast food outlets and schools.

Customers based further afield can collect their produce from the Fruit & Veg City premises off Leopards Hill Road in Lusaka, or arrange for delivery with their designated third part agent. Part of the company's expansion drive is to establish a base in Kitwe to service the Copperbelt, starting in December 2014.

Miscellaneous products

Frozen products include stocks of frozen French fries for retail, franchise spec French fries and recommended palm oil to complement the cooking process of these products.
