The dining room is inviting, clean, well lit and tastefully furnished. Or you can opt to eat in the spacious landscaped garden.
The lunch menu changes daily from oxtail with roasted vegetables to lasagne and salad or chicken curry and more. And then there's the coffee – something Fig Tree Café are very proud of. Only the best Zambian coffee, freshly ground and filtered, is used to make the richest of cappuccino, cape mocha, latté and iced coffee.
The Fig Tree also provides a good selection of quality local produce from the Kabwe farming community, such as home made jams, honey, a selection of cheeses, and Fringilla sausages, as well as sun dried fruit including tomato, guava, mango, banana.
The original art work in the dining room is for sale too, as are a range of creatively-designed hand made crafts.
The Great North Road

It is a major route in Zambia, running north from Zambia's border with Zimbabwe at Chirundu through to Lusaka, Kabwe, Kapiri Mposhi, Serenje, Mpika, Isoka and on to Tunduma in Tanzania. The road forks at Kapiri Mposhi, with the left hand route leading up to Zambia's Copperbelt Province.
