Curriculum and examinations
The school curriculum is based on the requirements of the Examinations Council of Zambia. It is enriched by knowledge and experience from other countries such as Britain, Australia and the United States of America. Pass rates have always been above 90% and the school has a proud tradition of success. High academic standards and wide involvement in the co-curricular programme reflect the belief in the idea of education in its broadest sense. The school sees it as their responsibility to do their part in preparing the learners for the modern world. It is vital to give them knowledge and understanding of the 'real' world, and an awareness of the important choices that will determine their career values and lifestyle as adults.
Educational subjects
At this stage the sciences are split into environmental science, biology, chemistry and physics. Children are introduced to commerce, book keeping, agricultural science and library research. Geography, civics, history, religious education and English literature are also taught at this level. An important subject is examination practice which is used to asses each child. The school seeks to promote the academic development of learners and also their personal development. The school library is continuously developed and it supplements the teaching efforts of the staff.
Computers and technology
Computer Application Technology is taught from grades 10 to12. High school students are given the necessary skills to use the full Microsoft Office suite, internet and email in a well equipped computer centre. Qualified, dedicated and experienced staff encourage the understanding of IT at this level so it forms a strong foundation for students.
Science labs
Chudleigh House School has commissioned two international school standard physics and chemistry labs. This was done to provide a visual and practical aspect to the learning of science. These well equipped labs stimulate a greater interest in the sciences and promote teamwork and co-operation.
