Water quality testing and borehole cleaning: Africa Drilling and Exploration has the expertise to de-salt and clean damaged bore wells and earth pits. A borehole must be flushed periodically for the best yield and safety of the borehole because the ground water quality may change at any time. Africa Drilling and Exploration has a lot of experience in flushing and cleaning boreholes using a high pressure air compressor which removes raw water, dust, wastes and decayed particles. Calcium carbonate is used in the borehole to kill germs and bacteria where necessary. The company is a leading borehole cleaning provider in both Zambia and Rwanda.
Before cleaning, thorough tests are conducted to establish the type of cleaning required. The water is examined physically for colour, odour, turbidity, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids and suspended solids. It is examined chemically for PH, alkalinity, hardness, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, iron, manganese, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, chloride, fluoride, sulphate, phosphate, silica, BOD, COD, TKN, oil and grease, aluminium, chromium, arsenic and free chlorine. A bacteriological examination is also carried out to identify the standard plate count, total coli form, faecal coli form, and faecal streptococci.
Pump installations: Africa Drilling and Exploration will install any kind of pump – submersible pumps, jet pumps and hand pumps. Africa Drilling and Exploration undertakes installation of the following well known brands of submersible pumps – Texma, Atlanta Suguna and Grundfos. Texma is the most popular for 6 inch and 8 inch bore wells. Atlanta Suguna and Grundfos are stainless steel body pumps that give excellent performance. These pumps are suitable for a variety of purposes – agriculture, aquaculture, industry, domestic, hotel or apartment. A jet pump is a type of impeller-diffuser pump used to draw water from both shallow wells (25 feet or less) and deep wells (up to about 200 feet). Hand Pumps are used primarily as a manually powered means of bringing water to the surface from a borehole, rainwater tank or well.Services
