Therapists are skilled in analyzing daily activities and tasks, and they work to construct therapy programs that enable persons to participate more satisfactorily in daily occupations.
Opticians
Opticians fit eyeglasses and contact lenses, following prescriptions written by ophthalmologists or optometrists. Opticians look at written prescriptions to decide which type of lenses will work the best. They recommend eyeglass frames, lenses and lens coatings after considering the prescription and the customer's occupation, habits and facial features. Dispensing opticians measure clients' eyes, including the distance between the centre of the pupils (pupillary distance) and the distance between the eye surface and the lens (vertex distance). For customers without prescriptions, dispensing opticians may use a lensometer - an instrument that looks much like a microscope - to record the present eyeglass prescription, this is called "neutralizing" a lens. They also may obtain a customer's previous record, or verify a prescription with the examining optometrist or ophthalmologist.

Private nursing
Experienced private nurses are knowledgeable in many different areas such as ventilator and tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy, wound care and many others. For pediatric clients, nurses should be knowledgeable of the stages of development and proper psychosocial care of the age group they are caring for. Familiarity with long terms pediatric chronic health conditions such as traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, genetic disorders, and prematurity is important as well. Because they are very independent, the private nurses should feel comfortable working alone without any direct supervision.
