Chang Thai Restaurant

Located in Lusaka's Acacia Park, just next to the Arcades shopping centre, Chang Thai restaurant is the only exclusively Thai restaurant in Zambia. 'Chang' means elephant, an animal that is deeply revered and of great symbolism to the people of Thailand. The restaurant provides customers with a culinary experience of authentic Thai food while keeping in tune with Thai traditions and hospitality. In keeping with tradition, cutlery includes chop sticks.

Chang Thai is beautifully decorated with Thai artwork and sculptures, giving customers a visual experience of Thai aesthetics. Soothing Thai music is played in the background throughout the day. Customers can choose to enjoy their meal outside on the airy balcony or inside the softly lit restaurant. Those that desire a more private setting can dine within specially located booths that are shielded by black screens within the restaurant.

Enjoy a selection of traditional Thai soups such as the famous Tom Yum Koong, a hot and spicy prawn soup made with famous Thai herbs, or choose from a variety of popular Thai curries like the Gang Keaw Wan or choose from a variety of popular Thai curries like the Gang Keaw Wan, an authentic Thai green curry served with vegetables and a touch of coconut milk and choice of pork, chicken, beef, prawn or vegetarian.

Other options include Thai stir fries, Chang Thai specialties, healthy Thai salads, noodles and rice. Chang Thai serves duck and vegetarian dishes. All meals are served within the shortest time possible and take-away meals are also available for clients who are in a hurry or prefer to eat from home or at the office. In keeping with tradition, cutlery includes chop sticks.

Chang Thai restaurant boasts a fully stocked bar and serves an interesting variety of both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Soft drinks include a variety of sodas and juices like Thai coconut, mango and guava. There is also a selection of milk shakes such as vanilla, strawberry and chocolate milkshakes. Alcoholic beverages include ciders, spirit coolers, beers, whisky and shooters. There is also a wide selection of brandy, spirits and wines. Chang Thai has a comprehensive range of cocktails with choices like the popular Pina Colada, Martini, Cosmopolitan and the unique Mai Thai which includes white rum, dark rum, triple sec, amaretto, sugar syrup grenadine and pineapple juice.
