The main area stretches over various elevated decked levels amongst which a tempting double plunge pool with a waterfall linking the two is situated. Seating areas around the pool or in the shade of the open plan bar on the highest level all offer uninterrupted views across the river and into the National Park.

Watching an elephant take a dip in the river can be quite an experience when you're lounging in your own private plunge pool. The central bar and dining room is positioned under a huddle of matumi and sausage trees, with a wide deck that stretches out with views of the Kapamba River.

The camp is located on the edge of an escarpment in a private location in the South Luangwa with incredible game viewing from the main areas as well as guest tents. The oversized safari tents, all with indoor and outdoor showers. Endemic species include Thornicroft's giraffe, Crayshay's zebra, and Cookson's wildebeest.

Your room is a simple but cosy grass rondavel, circular hut complete with paraffin lanterns, swathes of mosquito netting and an open-air ensuite bathroom with a large 'safari' drum shower. From the panoramic windows you can look out onto the surrounding plains and the incredible game that frequently saunters through camp.

All Lion Camp safari activities are led by qualified guides who will educate and enlighten you in the secrets of the park. Game drives are conducted in open Land Rovers. Relax and unwind during your safari holiday. Built on raised wooden platforms, they are linked to each other and the main area by a raised wooden boardwalk. Each chalet has either a four poster king-size double bed or twin beds, and a walk-in mosquito net. They are all ensuite with a shower and toilet, and have private decks.

Nkwali is located on the banks of the Luangwa on a magnificent meander in the river overlooking the National Park where leopards roam along the bank and can often be spotted from camp. On private land outside the park, a private game viewing area behind camp as well as exclusive access into the park by boat or across the pontoon.

Fishing for Tiger Fish is one of the seasonal specialties of the Zambezi River. Although Tiger Fish and other species can be caught throughout their safari season, the best time to catch Tiger Fish is from late August to mid November during the hotter months of the year.

This impressive private house sits gracefully on the edge of a lagoon system frequented by large herds of elephants, impalas, giraffes and countless other species which use the lagoon as a source of water and food throughout the year. During the dry season lunch can be had on the raised deck surrounded by up to 80 elephants.
