The Bangweulu wetlands are destined to become Zambia's answer to Botswana's Okavango Delta in the future, but there are some substantial differences at this early stage. Although Bangweulu is home to some 75,000 endemic black lechwe along with the enigmatic shoebill, it has suffered badly at the hands of poachers.
Accommodation in 5 safari tents under thatch roofs and reed cottages. Each has 2 beds, an ensuite shower and flush toilet. Has panoramic views over the swamps and gets its name from the Shoebill. The island is on the edge of Zambia's Bangweulu Wetlands – an enormous flooded wilderness of low islands, reed-beds and shallow lagoons.
Here you can be at one with nature. Bangweulu Bay Lodge is a perfect restful ending to an adventurous holiday in Zambia, or for long weekends and family get togethers. Bangweulu Bay Lodge is small, comfortable and has a rustic feel. This safari lodge is made up of just three chalets, all with a lake view.
